Museum Hue is the leading arts service organization dedicated to advancing Black, Indigenous, Latino/e/x, Asian, and all People of Color in the arts and cultural field in New York and across the United States.

The Story
For MuseumHue, I developed a fully custom WordPress theme tailored to the organization’s mission of supporting and amplifying BIPOC museum professionals nationwide. The theme was built from the ground up with clean architecture, flexible content modules, and a visual system that reflected MuseumHue’s vibrant, community‑driven identity. This gave the organization a modern, scalable platform for storytelling, advocacy, and member engagement.
A major component of the project was building a robust member management system that handled user accounts, profiles, permissions, and community participation. I implemented annual membership subscriptions and billing directly within WordPress, creating a seamless experience for members while giving the organization reliable recurring‑revenue infrastructure. The system automated renewals, receipts, and access control, reducing administrative overhead and strengthening long‑term member retention.
To support MuseumHue’s growing national community, I also built a suite of member‑only community tools including message boards, a job board, and a nationwide events calendar. These features created a centralized hub where museum professionals could connect, share opportunities, and stay informed about events across the country. By combining custom theme development, membership infrastructure, and community‑building tools, I delivered a platform that strengthened MuseumHue’s impact and empowered its members to engage more deeply with one another.
